A viscose rug is one of a kind. The rug material, which in the past was also called artificial silk or rayon, is now manufactured from fibres derived from wood cellulose and a mix of plastics. A rug viscose is known for its beautiful sheen and luxurious look. Read below what the properties of a viscose rug are.
Dare to experiment, go for a viscose rug!
Indeed, in its purest form, viscose is very prone to creasing-now not exactly the most practical feature for a viscose rug. To still enjoy a viscose rug, other fabrics such as cotton and polyester are added to viscose rugs to make them slightly stiffer, firmer and less prone to creasing.
And we are extremely grateful for that! The unique sheen of viscose does extremely well on the floor. Plain colours like wine red, anthracite, moss green and, for the Italy lover, Azzurri blue, sparkle in every room - especially when the sun's rays reflect on the rug. Viscose rugs, like a velour rug, are perfect for the bedroom or nursery to keep feet warm.
Rug viscose in pure colours or with beautiful patterns
But even experimental prints come across as more experimental when made of viscose. Because of the extra gloss dimension, the print on your viscose rug sometimes takes on a life of its own. The twists and turns become even more sinuous, the vintage print seems even more graceful and the different blocks sometimes seem to move due to the light.
To keep the viscose rug looking nice for as long as possible, make sure that if it accidentally gets wet, you get a hairdryer going as soon as possible to get things dry again. Viscose absorbs moisture like crazy, which doesn't do the rug any favours.
